Spring is here and the field is not only water logged but covered in snow. There isn't anything you can do in this weather apart from making sure your horses have plenty of fresh hay and clean water that isn't frozen over!
The snow reaches half way up my wellingtons and it is so cold! I've been working with, Rosie, the past few months. When I take the feed into them, I feed, Rosie separate to the other horses. Now she walks up to me and walks into the separate paddock I have made for her. It is heart warming to see how she is accepting me more and more each day. But if the other horses are with us, then she backs away.
I will keep working on her until I can get her to accept me with others around and not feel any fear. It as been an on going problem for years. Someone as been going into the field with an hand made whip (they left it behind one day in the field) and also taken part of the fencing down!
I know with people going into the filed is causing problems for, Rosie and is making her nervous. I just wish I could catch them doing this but it is happening when it's getting dark.
Please make sure your horse has water and hay with the freezing temps we are having just now.
Roll on Summer! The Spring thinks it's the new winter! Sunshine shouldn't be to long now and we can have dry and green fields instead of white and wet muddy fields!
